NEPAD

Stop Illegal Fishing has worked closely with the NEPAD (New Partnership for Africa’s Development) since 2009 when it became a Working Group of the Partnership for African Fisheries a NEPAD initiative.

Stop Illegal Fishing continues to cooperate with the NEPAD Agency on issues of MCS and distilling African evidence into reform processes at home and internationally.

The NEPAD Planning and Coordinating Agency (NEPAD Agency) facilitates and coordinates the development of NEPAD continent-wide programmes and projects, mobilises resources and engages the global community, regional economic communities and member states in the implementation of these programmes and projects. Stop Illegal Fishing works with the NEPAD Agency on formulating the African Voice, implementation of the Pan-African Fisheries and Aquaculture Policy Framework and Reform Strategy and preparing policy advice requiring input on issues of IUU fishing and MCS.
