5th Meeting of the SADC Regional Technical Team for the SADC Fisheries Monitoring Control and Surveillance Coordination Centre

The 5th Meeting of the SADC Regional Technical Team for the SADC Fisheries Monitoring Control and Surveillance Coordination Centre (MCSCC) took place on the 11th -12th March 2020, in Port Elizabeth, South Africa.

The meeting, held back-to-back with the FishFORCE Dialogue, provided a progress and planning update on the establishment of the MCSCC, the work of the Interim Project Management Unit, and consideration of opportunities or collaboration and cooperation within the region.

The meeting was attended by 21 delegates representing the following SADC Member States: Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa and Zimbabwe; as well representatives of the SADC Secretariat, Benguela Current Convention (BCC), Indian Ocean Commission (IOC) E€OFISH Programme, Nelson Mandela University (NMU), Royal Norwegian Embassy in South Africa, Stop Illegal Fishing (SIF) and World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Mozambique.
