Stop Illegal Fishing welcomes new Executive Committee members

Following the 2017 Stop Illegal Fishing Annual General Meeting the Stop Illegal Fishing Executive Committee positions are now confirmed as:

Chairperson: Elsa Da Gloria Patria
Vice-Chairpersons: Markus Burgener and Nicholas Ntheketha
Secretary: Per Erik Bergh
Vice-Secretary: Mark Ssemakula
Treasurer: Sandy Davies
Executive Committee Members: Zahor El Kharousy and Victor Kargbo

Elsa Patria, Stop Illegal Fishing Chairperson welcomes Nicholas Ntheketha, Zahor El Kharousy and Mark Ssemakula as new members of the SIF Executive Committee. “ We are delighted that Nicholas, Zahor and Mark have joined the Executive Committee, all bring long experience of tackling illegal fishing in Africa and have been respected and valued members of the FISH-i Africa Task Force. Their understanding, expertise and practical experience will  strengthen our team and help us to build on our achievements.”

Warm thanks have been extended to outgoing EC members Seraphin Dedi and Richard Ball. “Stop Illegal Fishing has been very fortunate to have benefitted from the different perspectives of our EC members. We are a diverse network and value the experience offered from different regions and different stakeholders. Richard and Dedi have offered unique insights into the fisheries industry and we thank them for their contributions and support” stated Per Erik Bergh, SIF Coordinator.
