HUIHANG 68 agent and operator arrested in Tanzania

The agent of HUIHANG 68 (ex. GREKO 2) Issa Haji Salum, Director of Lucky Shipping and Fisheries Agency and Abdullah Issa Hanga, Director with Saha Company Limited appeared in court in Dar es Salaam last week charged with organised crime offences and misuse of the Tanzanian flag on Chinese-owned trawler HUIHANG 68.

The HUIHANG 68 was previously known as GREKO 2 and is linked to a suspected scrappage scam in which the vessel owner received 1.4 million Euros of European Union money for the decommissioning of the sister vessels, GREKO 1 and GREKO 2.
